What does it look like when a community comes together to back the potential of young women?
We had the privilege of seeing that in action at a special evening at Tattersall’s Club in Brisbane, proudly hosted by Granite Bay Private Wealth.
Bringing together our donors, partners and supporters, the evening was an opportunity to pause, reflect and celebrate the difference that collective investment in girls’ education can make.
We heard from Catherine Noble from Australians Investing in Women about the far-reaching social and economic impact of investing in women and girls, and from our HMEF Founder Kim Harding OAM, about what can be achieved when philanthropy is driven by a shared vision for the future.
But it was the voices of our alumnae that brought that vision to life.
Khawlah Asmaa Albaf expertly lead a panel with Yusra M. Hamna Mohsin and Stephanie Towers who each shared their experiences and ambitions, from pharmacy, law and science, and biomedicine to futures in medical research, doctoral degrees and community service and advocacy. Their journeys are a powerful illustration of what can happen when talented young women are given the support, encouragement and opportunities to realise their potential.
These are the outcomes behind every scholarship. Not simply a young woman supported through school, but a future pharmacist, lawyer, scientist, doctor, advocate and leader equipped to make her own contribution to the world.
