“The stats show when you educate a girl you educate a community, a country. When girls are educated, their countries become stronger and more prosperous.”
– Michelle Obama, former First Lady of the United States, launching the Girls Opportunity Alliance, a program of the Obama Foundation that seeks to empower adolescent girls around the world through education.
Is your business keen to help those less fortunate within your community? Demonstrating support for the future of young people in your area improves your customer relations. Helping to further the education of young women in your community is one way that you can provide practical support. Your support will help to establish your reputation as a community-minded business that reaps rewards in customer support.
There are several ways you can get involved.
1. Join together with four other colleagues, businesses, family or friends. If each party donates $88 a month for four years, $1000 per year, or a one-off donation of $4,000, together you will be able to provide a full $20,000 scholarship for a young girl doing it tough.
2. Give a proportion of your business sales. Watch this video explaining how one of our donors gives through her business.
